Rivers

There are a few rivers around Sedbergh, in Cumbria, that are just perfect for an afternoon stroll on a nice day. And with Sedbergh being in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and near the Lake District, the scenery is outstanding.

The River Rawthey is just one of them. A popular footpath, it runs by the local secondary school - Settlebeck High.

The River Rawthey then joins with the River Lune which flows through Kirkby Lonsdale and underneath the legendary Devil's Bridge which was built in 1370. There are many beautifully scenic walks around this river as well and you can stop for a hot drink and a snack at Devil's Bridge on the journey. The River Lune flows through the Lune Valley, from Kirkby Lonsdale to Lancaster.
