Grasmere, in the Lake District, is approximately 50 minutes from the town of Sedbergh, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. A popular place for walking holidays, and discovering the history of its most famous past resident, William Wordsworth. Map of journey.

Grasmere is located right at the heart of the Lake District and within short distances of Keswick, Coniston Water, Ambleside, Bowness and Windermere. Grasmere Lake is situated to the south of the village. There are some gentle walks around the lake for those that prefer the lower ground. For those that prefer more of a challenge, in Grasmere you're centrally situated for taking on the towering heights of the Scafell Pikes, Helvellyn, Skiddaw and the Langdale Pikes.

You can visit two of the former homes of William Wordsworth - Dove Cottage and Rydal Mount. Also in the centre of Grasmere is St. Oswalds Church, the churchyard which contains the Wordsworth family graves.

There is also the Annual Grasmere Sports and Show event which is popular with both locals and visitors.

There are lots of things to do and see in Grasmere and the surrounding area. And being only about 50 minutes from Sedbergh, it is an ideal place to visit.
