One of the most popular way to enjoy the beauty of the lake is to board one of the motor launches which operate round the lake. The launch stops at Ashness Gate, Lodore, High Brandlehow, Low Brandlehow, Hawes End and Nichol End.
You can of course, get just as much pleasure from the lake by having a stroll around the lakeside and taking in the stunning views at your own leisure.

The lake is situated immediately south of the town of Keswick.
There are motor boats and rowing boats for hire, so there is always plenty of activity. However, Derwent Water is a peaceful place. Perfect for families to relax together.
