Sedbergh - England's Book Town - the story

Sports in Sedbergh

As well as the scenic and tranquil Sedbergh Golf Club, Sedbergh has other sporting facilities for the more active. Situated next to the Howgill Fells, within the Yorkshire Dales, and near the Lake District, Sedbergh should be more than enough inspiration for you to get outside and enjoy nature at its best.

Tennis Courts

These are available locally and for anyone to use. All that is asked is a small donation to go into the honesty box at the pavillion. The courts can be found down on Guldrey Lane.

Squash Courts

Sedbergh School has allowed the locals use of the squash courts on their premises. These are located on Loftus hill and are great for a fast-paced game with some friends.

Cycling

You can always hop on a bike and explore the quiet country roads that surround Sedbergh. If you happen to be a dedicated mountain biker, you can explore the many bridleways and tracks across the fells. For more information, go to Sedbergh's main tourism site.
