Pubs
Any countryside town or village worth their salt has to have at least one pub for the locals to hang out in. Sedbergh, in Cumbria and the Yorkshire Dales National Park, can boast three excellent pubs in town, and they have all retained their own individual character and feel. Each of the three are brilliant places for both locals and visitors alike.
The Dalesman is a popular pub and one of the most characterful. It emanates a laid back country pub charm that keeps people coming back time and time again. Whether its a quick half after work, a pint or three after a strenuous hike up the fells, or an evening meal with the family, the Dalesman is a great choice for everyone.
The Bull Hotel is a traditional 17th Century Coaching Inn where locals and visitors are always sure of a good pint and something to eat. The old country pub feel is strongly reflected in here too, and with a games room and an outside play area for kids, it ensures that it is always a hit with families. The Bull Hotel boasts nationally recognised brews such as Pedigree and Timothy Taylor's. These sit perfectly alongside local brews like Black Sheep and Copper Dragon.
The Red Lion is a pub which dates back to the 1800s. Its beers are from Cumbrian brewers, the Jennings Brothers of Cockermouth who use their own private spring in the brewing process. Delicious meals are made using ingredients that are, where possible, fresh from local farms and shops. Another brilliant place to stop by and soak up the atmosphere over a tasty meal and refreshing drink.
