Farfield Mill is located in Sedbergh, in the county of Cumbria. Situated in the beautiful countryside of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and near to the remarkable Lake District, there is no better place to explore the local arts and craft heritage.
Farfield Mill operated as a woollen mill for 156 years between 1836 -1992. After an extensive refurbishment, Farfield Mill was transformed into an Arts and Heritage Centre in April 2001.
Farfield is located on four levels, with over 20 artists working in open studios. There are four large galleries, a changing exhibition programme and working Victorian looms (working most days). A craft shop sells interesting souvenirs and some excellent home made food is served in Weavers Cafe.
It's a great chance to see the arts and crafts of the local artists in this community and definately worth a couple of hours of your time.
